im really excited because i am about to go & live in LA with my boyfriend and his band for the year. i can only hope it is as cool as andy warhol made it out to be. i suppose i might have time to make lots of things ive been wanting to and spend some time on projects ive been dreaming about having time to do! plus i am mostly looking forward to all the raw food vegan oragnic bio dynamic green smoothies trader joes wholefoods and juice bars that make smoothies with superfoods unlike anywhere around here but my kitchen! oh and seeing my love ofcourse ♥

i just made this poster for stonnington. actually they had more info to put in last minute so it changed a fair bit as far as info + text goes but they wanted to be able to do that themselves. so this is my version! i did all of the text by hand with ink and a thin brush, i am really getting into doing handmade typography. my bf has this really great book called handjob: a catalog of type its great for anyone thinking of getting a new book.

daylesford road trip.

last weekend we went to daylesford in victoria to look for wild berries and mushrooms. we found so many of both, but our mushroom book was rubbish and we couldnt identify anything! so we collected a few and brought them home to look up on the internet. turns out most of them are deadly, woops!
we went to some berry farms and little fruit stops on the side of the road and got ourselves the most delicious homemade jam, honey, and apples.

my sister Alice started her own screen printing & textile design business Hand Drawn House some time last year. her focus is on environmentally friendly, fair trade & certified organic textiles and products. she uses her own drawings & designs and screen prints everything in her studio!

as you may or may not know, australia's weather at the moment is out of control. there were terrible terrible floods in queensland, where many lost lives, homes and businesses. the floods hit most places without any notice so people were actually running for their lives. i have family there who fortunately weren't in trouble but have many friends who were. so here's how i am doing my bit:i am auctioning some work to raise money for the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal. all the money raised will be donated. the auction will finish 9pm monday 24 january, so please check back to see how your bid is going or to make a higher bid. to make a bid, comment with your name, email & the price you are bidding - easy! please read the finer details below the images about bidding.

you have to check out the boniko website because the noises are SO cute! plus their socks are super cool + japanese style! they use all not quite right socks to make sock monsters too! can you tell i love them?
recently i got to do a colab with them for a bag they will be selling at their market stalls. i caught up with Rio from Boniko at the DesignMadeTrade show on the weekend + got to see them all made up! here it is!

dan + i went down to inverloch for the weekend. i took some more photos around the place because there are such cute things in the house!

we found a super cool antique shop in koo wee rup on the way home! i think if you like places like chapel street bazaar or op shops you should make a trip down some day to check this one out. dan had to wear a faux fur coat around to stay warm and we only bought a book! but i would go back if i had somewhere to decorate.

Kids in Berlin window

today i spent some time putting up a window display at Kids in Berlin shop in north melbourne. lucky i had my spunky assistant dan with me because it took much longer than i thought! here's some photos i took when i was making some cardboard cut outs for the window, my little helper pippa, my friends visit in my studio for a craft day and some photos of the window! i must go back when there isn't such a reflection in the window.
i have some of my brooches for sale in the shop + the window will be up for 2 weeks.

i put some work into the disband exhibition which was on in sydney over the weekend. unfortunately i didn't make it up, but the word on the street is they will be bringing it to melbourne in july.

the theme for the new works was 'break ups' so i looked at the positive side which to me means new possibilities, and having a kind of freedom. here are my pieces, they are digital prints on calico with hand embroidery. and they are also for sale, find them here along with other work from the show!
